Surveys

The Office for Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) coordinates and publishes results and analytical reports from several national and internal institutional surveys conducted at the College of Charleston. OIE maintains an Institutional Survey Calendar to avoid the collection of duplicate information and provides resources to ensure sound survey methodology and design.


College of Charleston First Destination Surveys

Inquires about employment, additional education, and level of satisfaction with the College of Charleston. This survey is administered annually to alumni six months, one year, three years, and five years post-graduation. 

CIRP Freshman Survey and Follow-up Surveys

A national survey administered to incoming first-year students before they start classes. Also includes information about the two follow-up surveys: Your First College Year and College Senior Survey.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

A national survey that collects information about student participation in programs and activities related to their learning and personal development. Also includes information about the Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE) and the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE).

College of Charleston Senior Exit Surveys

Administered annually to graduating seniors who participate in graduation rehearsal. Inquires about future plans and conducts a brief assessment of satisfaction with their academic experience.
